For FSSC 22000 documents, build an evidence matrix from scope instead of giving every applicant an identical file list. Each row should identify the current rule, responsible person, record or operating practice and product batch to examine. Newly prepared blank forms do not establish past practice; explain the production version represented by existing records. Verify the complete list against current programme requirements and the body’s application arrangements.
Connecting practice and records
An evidence matrix can track ISO 22000, sector prerequisites and FSSC additions separately. For a changed production line, review the hazard analysis, hygiene arrangements and verification plan together. Check that records have dates and scopes matching current production.

Document example: the evidence matrix links only ISO 22000 clauses, omitting sector prerequisites and FSSC additional requirements. A generic certificate copy cannot fill those columns. Map actual practice, record ownership and verification evidence separately against the category and applicable version.

The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. For FSSC certification, separately verify the selected legal entity’s programme licence, relevant scope and current status; ISO 22000 accreditation alone is not an FSSC licence.
