FSSC 22000 Version 7 Transition Guide
FSSC 22000 Version 7 was released in May 2026. Version 6 audits may be conducted until 30 April 2027; Version 7 upgrade audits run from 1 May 2027 to 30 April 2028. The organisation should identify its next surveillance or recertification audit within that window with its licensed certification body.
Choose the upgrade audit in the existing cycle
Start with the current certificate, food-chain category, audit schedule and last unannounced audit. An upgrade is a full audit during the existing cycle, rather than a separate visit that automatically extends certificate validity.
Select the correct PRPs before changing procedures
Version 7 combines ISO 22000, the applicable ISO 22002:2025 prerequisite programme standards and FSSC additional requirements. A food manufacturer needs the common Part 100 together with Part 1; a packaging-only manufacturer needs Part 100 and Part 4. Activity and category determine the selection.
