ISO 9001 audit: sample the requirement-to-result trail
An audit assesses how processes meet requirements rather than counting files.
Decision and conditional example
A selected order may be traced through request, revision, purchasing or production and final control. If practice differs from an instruction, explain the finding using evidence. A complaint can reveal a correction that failed to improve later orders. In initial certification, stage 1 considers readiness and system arrangements; stage 2 examines implementation. Follow-up evaluates responses to nonconformities before the impartial decision. A preparation consultant’s involvement does not guarantee approval. The audit does not establish that every product batch was tested or every delivery is flawless; maintain the actual system and sampling boundary.

- Effect of correction after a complaint
- Stage 1, stage 2 and decision separation
Standard and authority boundaries
The current ISO catalogue edition is ISO 9001:2026. Withdrawal of the 2015 edition from the catalogue alone does not determine an existing certificate’s status. Confirm applicable edition, transition arrangements and the issuer’s accredited coverage separately. Quality management-system certification is not product approval or a guarantee of flawless delivery on every order.
Kayra’s role and the independent decision
The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. ISO publishes standards and does not certify organisations. Verify the chosen body’s current standard edition, activity coverage and any claimed accreditation. Preparation does not guarantee approval, legal compliance or authority to certify a newly published edition. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
