Batch and operating evidence

Review the recipe and specification revision, raw material controls, process results and label approval for a selected batch together. Traceability exercises support recall preparation. A finding should distinguish the decision about affected product from the root cause and measures preventing recurrence.

Continuity after the audit

IFS Food audits are annual, and at least one in every three audits must be unannounced. Readiness therefore cannot depend on a single booked date. Track product and technology changes, complaints and corrective actions throughout the year, including effects of the current doctrine.

Timing and cost planning

A quotation depends on product and technology scopes, the site, personnel and required audit work. Separate consultancy from the approved body’s audit fee. Certification is not decided by paperwork alone: audit findings and the applicable IFS decision rules govern the outcome.

Scope discussion and responsibilities
