01

Assess actual tasks

ISO 12100 describes risk assessment and risk reduction for machinery design. Define intended use, reasonably foreseeable misuse and relevant life-cycle stages. Record the person, task, danger zone and hazardous circumstances; a generic score sheet is insufficient.

02

Reduce and verify risk

Apply the hierarchy: inherently safe design, safeguarding for remaining risks, then information about residual risks. Warnings do not excuse omitted feasible design or guards. Link each measure to the requirement and verification. Check the applicable EN edition and official harmonised reference; an ISO number or a draft alone does not establish legal presumption of conformity. Update the assessment when design or use changes.

03

Market date and responsibility

For the EU/EEA route, machinery placed on the EU market before 20 January 2027 must comply with Directive 2006/42/EC; Regulation 2023/1230 applies mandatorily from that date. Check the actual product and transition rules. Kayra supports preparation and coordination, without assuming manufacturer responsibility or claiming notified-body status. No positive assessment or fixed marking date is guaranteed.
