When does a group form an assembly?

Machines standing next to one another are not automatically one assembly. Examine their common purpose and coordinated control as a functioning whole. Record the boundary, product flow and safety interactions.

Integration evidence

Individual declarations do not resolve transfer, access or shared-stop hazards. Assess setting, clearing blockages, cleaning and maintenance across interfaces. Identify the final manufacturer, collect incorporation documents and verify coordinated controls. If continued operation of linked equipment would be dangerous, the stop boundary must address it. Market date and responsibility

For the EU/EEA route, machinery placed on the EU market before 20 January 2027 must comply with Directive 2006/42/EC; Regulation 2023/1230 applies mandatorily from that date.
