Audit process and findings

The FSSC 22000 audit process does not end when a preparation folder is sent. Establish scope and applicable rules with the relevant body; assessment connects documents, staff explanations and actual operations. For a finding, distinguish product impact, correction and action preventing recurrence. Preparation consultancy cannot guarantee that independent assessment or a favourable certification decision.

Connecting practice and records

Publication of Version 7 does not mean every October 2026 audit uses it. Agree the applicable audit version and the transition after 1 May 2027 with the certification body. Track open findings, changes and follow-up assessments separately when planning certificate continuation.

Example decision: a scope change

Audit example: a new line has cleaning records, but its changed flow cannot be traced to the hazard assessment. Editing the diagram alone does not demonstrate closure. Explain how prerequisites, control measures and verification address the new activity; the body’s assessment remains separate.

Application review and independent decision

The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. For FSSC certification, separately verify the selected legal entity’s programme licence, relevant scope and current status; ISO 22000 accreditation alone is not an FSSC licence. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
