Define the product
Identify the function, moving parts, drive, controls and system boundary. Machinery, partly completed machinery and safety components follow different legal paths. CE-marked components do not establish the conformity of the final machine.
Select the procedure
The manufacturer meets the applicable requirements, assesses risk, prepares the technical file and declaration, and follows the product-specific procedure. Not every machine requires a notified-body certificate. If one is required, verify the legal, product and procedure scope in NANDO.
Partly completed machinery
Under the Directive this route involves relevant technical documentation, assembly instructions and a declaration of incorporation. These join the final machinery file; they are not the final declaration of conformity. Do not apply machinery CE marking to it as if it were a completed machine. Other applicable legislation is checked separately.
Market date and responsibility
For the EU/EEA route, machinery placed on the EU market before 20 January 2027 must comply with Directive 2006/42/EC; Regulation 2023/1230 applies mandatorily from that date. Check the actual product and transition rules. Kayra supports preparation and coordination, without assuming manufacturer responsibility or claiming notified-body status. No positive assessment or fixed marking date is guaranteed.
