Decision and conditional example

A hypothetical chilled-meal producer verifies the real flow from ingredient receipt through preparation, cooking, cooling and dispatch. Link hazard analysis, prerequisites and selected control measures to the products and processes. Do not assign every business the same critical control point or limit; the organisation needs analysis and validation evidence. Implement monitoring, verification and action for deviations. For application, disclose product groups, sites, shifts and outsourced processes. Establishing the food-safety system and deciding independent certification are separate activities. Product safety and applicable operating duties remain the business’s responsibility.

Standard and authority boundaries

ISO 22000:2018 with its 2024 amendment provides the food-safety management-system framework. A revision project is not a newly published edition. System certification is not a product certificate attesting the safety of every batch. The business retains its food-law and safety responsibilities, including HACCP and prerequisite practices appropriate to its actual activity.

Kayra’s role and the independent decision

The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. ISO publishes standards and does not certify organisations. Verify the chosen body’s current standard edition, activity coverage and any claimed accreditation. Preparation does not guarantee approval, legal compliance or authority to certify a newly published edition. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
