Crush between the corners
The entry points of the press and conveyor cylinders can pull the hand or the suit in, and the need for access protection and adjustment is resolved together.
For Paper, printing and carton machinery, the applicable CE scope is determined from intended use, energy sources, safety architecture and target market. The risk assessment, technical file, testing and conformity route must be verified against the actual model.

In printing machines, plate change, color setting, printing sampling, paper jamming, and stair cleaning are often done for continuity of production. If dangerous areas become accessible by removing protective surfaces during these operations, they are not enough to appear closed during normal operation.
The knife and press bar in a paper cutting machine; the belt, ladder, chain, hot grip and feeding stacks in the box fold-paste line produce different risks. If the connected printing, drying and conversion units use a common programmable logic controller (PLC) or line controller, the existing documentation of each module does not cover the entire line risk alone.
In Turkey, the 2006/26 Compliance Statement is based on the 2026 offer. The EU and EEA apply the 2006/42/EC, including 19 hob 2027; as of 20 hob 2027, (EU) 2023/1230 enters into general application. In Turkey, this date is not automatically valid; national compliance legislation is not validated on the date of the first market offer or first service of the machine. The plan for the printing investment is specified in the contract if the plan for this legal date is limited.
The use of solvent-based ink or cleaner in flex pressure requires special data in terms of the exposure to the explosive atmosphere. In UV drying, optical radiation and ozone, fire and hot surface in a hot air system, static electricity in a dust miter can be separately addressed. EMC assessment is done according to the electronic driver and control architecture; the choice of EN 60204-1 for electrical equipment is also justified by the actual scope of the machine. The ink prescription, washing material, dryer temperature and production speed changes may lose its validity, such as the more accepted pre-allowed air or fire prevention, as in the air turnover and production speed.
Name similarity alone is not sufficient; the energy source, intended use, and safety architecture are read together.
| Product or limit | The distinguishing feature | The relevance of the results |
|---|---|---|
| Does the machine work, or does the roller? | The protective design is initiated with this basic distinction because the feed, material stress and access points change. | |
| Is there a solvent-based product? | The flash point is the input of the fire coverage with ATEX, quantity, aeration and locations information. | |
| What is drying technology? | The risks of radiation, heat, ozone and combustion in UV, IR, hot air or gas systems require different validations. | |
| Do you need to move during the setup? | The value of the limited speed, type of control and operator vision shall be determined in conjunction with the product standard. | |
| Are the units working together? | If there's a central launch and security communication, integrated line responsibility is analyzed. | |
| How do you do the knife change? | The transport apparatus, energy isolation and the possibility of sharp edge contact are confirmed in the maintenance procedure. |
The protective, control and verification approach shall be based on the actual product cycle.
The entry points of the press and conveyor cylinders can pull the hand or the suit in, and the need for access protection and adjustment is resolved together.
The single or double controls on the paper cutter are tested as a safety function for protective, optical sensing and unexpected knife landing.
Flexible ink and chemical washing can create a burning atmosphere in closed volume.
When the protector is turned on, radiation or heat may need to be cut off; cooling and ventilation may need to be kept safe.
The pulled paper palette creates an automatic uninterrupted feeder or exit exit area for crushing and rolling.
On long lines, it is possible for another operator to run the machine.
A single product name doesn't give the same answer for all models.
| The subject | The situation | Product-based evaluation |
|---|---|---|
| The machine's layout | YES, YES | In Turkey, 2006/42/AT applies for printing equipment; the next national compliance is confirmed on the date of the printing line's first market supply or first service. Paper conversion functions are examined in this framework. |
| EMC | IT 'S A MESS . | EMC scope is assessed in terms of the intended environment; driver and communication patterns affect test requirements. |
| LVD | NO , NOT AT ALL . | The LVD is not applied to machinery as a separate directive; electrical safety objectives are met within the scope of machinery legislation. |
| ATEX | IT 'S A MESS . | Solvent is applied if flammable ink or paper dust creates an explosive atmosphere in the intended environment. |
| PED | NO , NOT AT ALL . | The standard printing and cardboard machines are not typical main coverage; if the project has special pressure equipment above 0.5 bar, the decision is reopened. |
| Optical radiation | IT 'S A MESS . | In the design using UV or IR drying, resource retention, leakage and maintenance exposure are evaluated. |
ISO management system certification does not replace product-specific risk analysis, test evidence and compliance file.
The pressure unit, dryer, feeder, cutter, adhesive and output modules are defined at the serial number level.
The actual movements of the operator in the exchange of plates, inks, moulds, knives and materials are analyzed.
Additional evidence needs are identified for solvent, UV, temperature, pressurized air and electrical sources.
The lid, optical protector, standby time, limited speed and re-installation behavior are closed by function tests.
The usage limits, machine label and declaration of conformity in the instruction shall be matched with the final delivery configuration.
The number of press units, machine width, solvent or UV system, attached cut-cut modules, and available safety verification determines the scope of work.
Compare the top coverage or other similar risk architecture.
General answers cannot be given without examining the history of the machine's market supply, the import situation and the changes made.
The glow properties, quantity, process clarity and the possibility of an explosive atmosphere resulting from aeration are determinants of the material used.
The sensing field, approach distance, standing performance and reliability of the control circuit are verified together.
The unit's own conformity is useful, but new risks arising from the mechanical and control interface of the two machines are also addressed separately for the integrated system.
Optical radiation, high voltage, temperature, ozone, lamp breaking and maintenance access are evaluated according to product design.
Missing drawings, unverified safety PLC, unknown solvent data, line changes, and uncompleted posture tests directly affect the operating calendar.
