Organic cosmetic claims depend on the finished product meeting the selected programme as well as agricultural ingredient status. Adding one organic ingredient does not make the whole formulation organic.
Verify the ingredient's status and proportion, then compare other components and processing with the programme. Meet finished-product acceptance and labelling conditions separately. One organic input does not justify an unrestricted claim for the whole product. Choose the intended programme early in development.
Apply the selected programme's calculation rules for product type, water and other ingredients. Percentages calculated by different methods should not be presented as equivalent. Record the formulation and ingredient statuses used. Selecting whichever method gives the highest result is not a substitute for a correct claim.
Verify identity, source and preservation of organic status through the supply chain. Match certificate scope with dispatch and batch records and consider programme rules for trading and processing. A general certificate from a producer does not by itself establish the status of the batch received.
Assess new ingredient sources, acceptability and effects on formula calculations. Complete necessary scope updates and product approval. A shared range name does not automatically cover every variant. Allow assessment and safety work time before packaging production and launch.
Organic content and programme conformity require different evidence from efficacy claims. Review applicable testing and claim conditions for SPF or specific skin effects separately. An organic logo does not substitute for those results. Product safety and other cosmetic obligations also continue.
Review certificate status, the supplier's explanation and batch traceability under the programme. Last year's conformity does not automatically establish acceptance of new purchases. Resolve product status and alternative ingredient decisions through appropriate assessment. Do not continue the organic claim while leaving material uncertainty unresolved.
