Separate official powers from coordination
For certification, identify the assessment body authorized for the relevant product and route. For a declaration, identify the responsible applicant and applicable registration process. The technical regulation and scheme define duties; a consultant cannot assign itself those powers.
Check current body and laboratory entries and their applicable scope in official registers. Accreditation and register status must be relevant to the actual task, not merely to some other service. A copy of an old certificate or a trading name does not establish present authority.
Responsible preparation and decision
Conditional case: an intermediary offers to issue a certificate under its own consultancy letterhead. Ask for the actual authorized body, document route and traceable record; do not treat the intermediary’s letter as an EAC conformity certificate.
