SABER costs and timing: separate platform fees from assessment
Build the budget around models, technical evidence and shipment requests. Distinguish official platform charges from testing, assessment and consultancy.
Price the actual scope
The official SABER homepage checked on 4 October 2026 lists SAR 500 for registering a product conformity certificate and SAR 350 for issuing a shipment certificate, excluding VAT. These platform charges are not an all-inclusive assessment price. Obtain separate quotations for the accepted body, laboratory work, additional licences, translations and optional Kayra preparation services, identifying what each quotation includes.
Use service estimates with their limits
SASO’s product-certificate service page currently gives an estimate of five to six working days. Treat this as a published service estimate, not the total time from an incomplete dossier to customs clearance. Classification questions, missing tests, additional product requirements, body review and shipment approval can affect the schedule. Agree milestones against a complete file and the actual body’s availability.
A new model can change both price and schedule
If a second model appears after the quotation, check coverage and technical evidence before including it. Additional testing or a separate request may change the budget. Distinguish completed preparation, a submitted application, the body’s decision and the subsequent shipment request. Kayra’s quotation covers its stated consultancy tasks; payment to Kayra does not buy an approval date.
