Who decides lift CE conformity?
Distinguish installer declarations, notified-body decisions and consultancy.
Installer and component manufacturer have different duties
Under 2014/33/EU, the installer is responsible for design, manufacture, installation and placing the lift on the market. The safety-component manufacturer has separate product duties. The installer completes the applicable procedure, draws up the declaration and affixes CE when conformity is demonstrated. A maintenance contractor’s signature is not automatically the installer’s conformity declaration.
The notified body performs its assigned procedure
Use a body notified for the actual lift or safety-component procedure. Final inspection, unit verification and quality-system assessment have distinct tasks and outputs. Kayra may coordinate readiness and documents but cannot issue the body’s decision or grant national periodic-inspection authority. For Türkiye, establish the 2014/33/AB route and competent body; do not infer designation from a consultant’s quotation.
