Machinery CE assessment: inspection and test sequence
Plan machine inspections and tests from identified risks, the selected conformity route and the exact production configuration.
Plan checks from risks and requirements
An assessment plan starts with intended use, lifecycle tasks and the applicable essential requirements. Match each risk-reduction measure to a drawing, calculation, inspection or functional test. Choose the Directive Article 12 route before describing the work as a certification audit.
For an Annex IV category, check whether the applied harmonised standards cover all relevant requirements. This determines the available internal-check or notified-body route. An ordinary supplier visit does not automatically constitute EC type-examination or full quality assurance.
Test the supplied configuration
A hypothetical press has an interlocked guard, but its production control revision allows restart while the guard is open. Testing an earlier prototype is insufficient: identify the changed revision, check the actual restart behaviour and correct the unsafe function.
Consider normal operation, fault conditions, adjustment, cleaning and maintenance when selecting checks. Agree safe access, isolation and test conditions; a test plan must not expose personnel to uncontrolled movement simply to demonstrate a hazard.
Resolve findings before release
Record the machine identification, configuration, methods, acceptance criteria, results and corrective actions. After a change, explain which earlier results remain applicable and which checks must be repeated. Photographs alone cannot demonstrate the performance of a safety control.
Kayra can coordinate the agreed evidence and outstanding product tasks. The manufacturer approves the final technical file and declaration; any notified body performs and decides its assigned procedure. From 20 January 2027 the Regulation’s route and annexes must be checked separately.

For “Machinery CE assessment: inspection and test sequence”, share the machine function, current model and design revision, intended use, planned EU placement date and available risk or test records. Agreed product preparation work does not replace the manufacturer’s declaration or a legally required notified-body procedure.
