The EU General Product Safety Regulation addresses consumer product safety and supply-chain responsibilities. Completing a marketplace field is only one part of the work.
Establish GPSR coverage and any sector-specific legislation first. Connect product description, risks, safety rationale and evidence. No CE requirement does not remove safety duties. Conversely, GPSR alone does not justify CE marking; do not add a mark that does not apply.
Display manufacturer and, where required, EU responsible-person details, product identification and necessary warnings clearly. Follow relevant language conditions. Review the product offer itself rather than relying only on a general contact-page link. Listing, packaging and technical file should identify the same model.
Assess pigments, coatings or materials for chemical and use-related effects. A visual change may matter technically. Determine whether old tests represent the new variant and obtain further evidence where needed. Align family lists, supplier information and listings with the current version.
Not holding stock does not automatically remove a legal supply-chain role. Determine who places goods on the market and who acts as importer or distributor from the actual transaction. Establish access to information, complaints and evidence. A marketplace does not assume every seller obligation merely by providing its service.
Assess product-related risk and possible effects on other customers. Follow applicable authority notifications, corrective measures and consumer communication. A refund does not replace those tasks. Product and batch traceability help identify whom to contact.
Age alone is insufficient; review product version, method and current requirements. Material or supplier changes can make earlier evidence inadequate. Do not invent one validity period for every report and product. Plan updates through change and risk assessment.
Share the subject, organisation or product, target market, current evidence and target date. The team can then separate consultancy, official fees, independent evaluation and realistic timing.
