TSE Product Certification: Models, Brands and Manufacturing Changes
Read TSE certification alongside product scope, the applicable standard and production conditions. One certificate does not automatically cover the company's entire catalogue.
Questions for your situation
Can the TSE mark appear on other products under our certified product's brand?
Assess marking rights only within the certificate's products and conditions. A shared brand does not establish shared scope. Agree technical differences and any necessary extension for new models with TSE. Clearly distinguish certified products from those outside scope in catalogues.
Can the old certificate be used after production moves to another factory?
Assess the new factory's processes, equipment and controls against certificate conditions. Relocation may matter even when design is unchanged. Do not assume existing scope covers all production at the new factory before required TSE notification, review and updates are completed.
What information should a brand owner using contract manufacturing prepare?
Clarify relationships between the applicant, brand rights and actual manufacturing site. Arrange access to design, production control, testing and change information. Verify whether the contractor's existing certificate covers your particular brand and model. A commercial agreement alone does not create certification scope.
Must every test be repeated after a raw material change?
Assess effects on standard requirements and certificate conditions. Determine additional testing and TSE notification accordingly; different changes can have different consequences. Maintain identifiable material, supplier and initial production records so the changed product can be distinguished from earlier production.
Does a successful product test remove the need for factory assessment?
Sample results and sustained serial-production characteristics provide different evidence. Meet factory assessment and follow-up conditions of the applicable TSE programme separately. A positive report does not automatically create a certification decision or permission to use the mark.
Which batch information is needed when a market complaint arises?
Connect model, production date, batch or serial identity, material and inspection records. Establish the extent of the issue and plan technical investigation and correction. Report matters affecting certification or marking under TSE conditions. Replacing one returned unit does not remove the need to investigate common production causes.
Share the subject, organisation or product, target market, current evidence and target date. The team can then separate consultancy, official fees, independent evaluation and realistic timing.
