TSE and TSEK: standard or accepted criterion?
Choose TSE or TSEK by the applicable standard or accepted criterion; check component scope, actual evidence and certificate limits.
Choose by technical basis, not by perceived prestige
The product route called TSE concerns the relevant Turkish standard. TSEK concerns a criterion accepted by TSE for a product without a Turkish standard. It is not a lower-grade certificate obtained by deleting inconvenient requirements. Product definition and intended use come first; ask TSE which current basis and programme fit them.
Record the reference, version and scope actually accepted for the application. A consultant’s private checklist is not an accepted TSEK criterion. If a relevant Turkish standard exists, do not assume the criterion route is available merely because a supplier finds it easier. Unresolved route questions remain open until TSE clarifies them.
A component standard may not cover the finished product
Conditional example: a supplier proposes a finished assembly using a standard whose scope covers only one component. Read the scope and exclusions, not just the shared product name. Map the finished product’s relevant requirements; ask TSE whether the proposed basis applies. Do not call the assembly standard-certified using the component’s document.
If TSE identifies an accepted criterion route, connect each requirement to the actual configuration, drawings and reports. Evidence for different materials, dimensions or use remains a gap until its relevance is assessed. A convenient test report does not determine which programme applies or prove the complete product.
Compare issued scope, not labels alone
Check the certificate holder, product, model, manufacturing site, standard or criterion and current status in TSE’s official enquiry. A buyer requesting conformity to a named standard needs a clear explanation if the supplied document cites a criterion instead. Request acceptance or clarification; do not describe different bases as identical.
TSE decides its programme, evidence acceptance and certification; certificate and current mark conditions govern use. Kayra may analyse the basis and prepare a requirement-to-evidence table. Neither a consultancy file nor payment issues a certificate, authorises a new scope, or removes separate CE duties where applicable.
