Check EMC evidence: authenticity, assessed configuration and current scope
Compare the delivered apparatus with declarations, reports and any chosen type examination rather than search for a universal product licence.
Choose the document and question
There is no universal EMC product-approval register that proves conformity from a certificate number. Start with apparatus identification, manufacturer, supplied configuration, declaration and technical records. Distinguish whether a report was issued, what was assessed, whether a chosen type examination covers the stated aspects, and whether the current apparatus remains supported.
For a claimed notified-body examination, check the actual body and EMC designation/task separately from the authenticity of its document. A real designation number does not authenticate every document bearing it. Laboratory report authenticity can be checked with the independently identified issuing source; its confirmation does not automatically prove present configuration coverage.
Hypothetical case: gateway with an added interface
A purchaser receives a gateway with an additional Ethernet interface and revised firmware. The supplier presents a report number for the earlier gateway and calls it a universal EMC licence. Compare model labels, interface/firmware revisions, assessed operating modes, port setup, report identity and the manufacturer’s change assessment before accepting the claim.
Ask the actual issuer about document authenticity where necessary, and ask the manufacturer for the link to the delivered configuration. Record those questions and answers separately. Do not assert fraud merely because a public search returns no result, or treat an authentic old report as approval of an unexplained interface change.
A bounded verification output
Keep source copies, enquiry dates, model/configuration comparison, issuer responses and unresolved technical questions in the check record. If the selected route includes type examination, note its real essential-aspect scope rather than expanding it to all EMC work. A source check cannot manufacture missing engineering evidence or alter an issuer’s record.
Kayra can organise the comparison and enquiry within the agreed scope. It does not operate a statutory EMC product register or promise authority acceptance. The next action is manufacturer-supported configuration coverage and closure of remaining technical questions, with authenticity and conformity conclusions kept distinct.
