Separate preparation from the licensing decision
Identify the actual plumbing or drainage product and required specification before comparing services. A consultant organizes the file; the competent WaterMark Conformity Assessment Body, or Approved Certifier, evaluates conformity and decides certification. ABCB administers the scheme.
Ask for the WMCAB’s exact identity and current approved scope, the laboratory’s task, and who supplies manufacturing-quality evidence. Define reports, licence and model coverage, third-party fees and exclusions. A consultant’s logo or unrelated accreditation does not establish WaterMark issuing authority.
Responsible preparation and decision
Conditional case: a low-price offer includes a test report but says nothing about production-quality assessment or a product licence. Clarify the missing tasks; do not present the report or preparation contract as WaterMark certification.
