TSE product renewal and surveillance: check changes before relying on the old scope
Use the actual certificate, programme conditions and current status; renewal submission does not extend validity or accept a changed manufacturing process.
Establish what is currently certified
Read the full certificate and its annexes, not just the expiry date on a copied first page. Identify holder, models, manufacturing sites and technical reference, then check official status and the applicable current programme/contract conditions. No single renewal interval or surveillance timetable can be inferred for every TSE product from this guide.
Maintain a change record against that scope: materials, design, production location and processes can affect the evidence originally assessed. A renewal request should identify relevant changes rather than simply attach the old document. Ask TSE which updates and checks are needed for the actual product programme.
A changed outsourced finishing process needs an evidence decision
Conditional example: the holder retains the model name and dimensions but transfers a performance-relevant finishing process to another subcontractor. The old test sample came from the former process. Record the changed process, location, controlled specifications and sample history; the unchanged model name does not prove that earlier evidence remains representative.
Determine which requirement may be affected and submit the available comparison and production controls for TSE’s consideration. Do not declare “no change” merely because the label is unchanged, and do not assert that every subcontractor change necessarily requires the same new test. The needed examination depends on the actual requirement and accepted programme evidence.
Keep pending work separate from continued mark rights
A filed renewal request, paid invoice or planned visit is not itself an extension of the certificate or permission to use the mark beyond its accepted conditions. Confirm what the actual current status permits, especially where validity, suspension or a scope change is unresolved. Obtain the applicable TSE direction before treating pending work as a positive result.
The company maintains truthful change/production records and implements controls; TSE determines acceptance and the certification outcome. Kayra can compare the old scope with current production, organise missing evidence and coordinate agreed renewal preparation. This service does not change official status, extend dates or authorise a new model, site or process.
