EN 1090 assessment: demonstrate controls and close evidence gaps
Prepare the actual product, site and production controls for the assigned assessment tasks. Trace findings to real work and product decisions; revising a procedure alone does not show that an affected batch was controlled.
Understand the tasks being assessed
Confirm the supplied structural component or kit, manufacturing sites and applicable system with the responsible body. Read the actual assessment plan and requested evidence. Product performance, manufacturing controls and design information where relevant must be connected to the scope; an assessment of one operation does not automatically cover all activities or sites.
Prepare responsible people and usable records for the agreed tasks. Show implementation and actual outcomes, not just procedures written for the visit. The precise assessment and verification tasks follow the applicable product specification and system; this guide does not prescribe a universal visit duration, sample count or surveillance schedule.
A wrong material identity needs a product decision
Conditional example: during review of a fabricated bracket batch, the material record refers to a different batch than the one actually used. A revised receipt procedure is offered as the only correction. Determine the affected components and original material evidence, then investigate the real identity and disposition of the products before claiming the finding is closed.
Keep the discrepancy and actual corrective evidence traceable. The manufacturer must deal with the affected product and controls; the responsible assessor determines acceptance of the evidence within its task. Do not copy a material identity into the record without verification or state that a physical conformity problem disappeared because a procedure was rewritten.
Separate corrective work from the assessment decision
For each finding, record the actual requirement, affected scope, responsible action and evidence of completion. Distinguish immediate treatment of the affected product from action on the production process. Keep any unresolved product release decision visible; a deadline in a correction plan is not proof that the work happened.
Kayra can coordinate the evidence map and response package. The manufacturer performs and records the controls and product actions; the body decides its assigned assessment and certification. Align subsequent declaration and CE work with the resulting assessed scope. A consultant’s closure table does not bind the body or approve the whole construction project.
