Check CE evidence: model, issuer, scope and current configuration
Compare the declaration and supporting assessment records; do not treat a logo or one database result as universal approval.
Define what is being checked
There is no single universal CE product-certificate register. Start with the product’s identity, manufacturer and declaration, identifying all stated legal acts and any required independent decision. Ask for the actual report or certificate annexes and compare their scope with the product delivered. A genuine record can still concern another model or configuration.
Where a notified body is involved, NANDO helps verify its designation and tasks. It does not authenticate every certificate or confirm every product’s current conformity. Use the issuer’s genuine contact channel for document-authenticity questions, and ask the manufacturer about configuration changes and the evidence supporting the signed declaration.
A hypothetical mismatched model suffix
A purchased item carries model X-R, while the declaration and examination certificate list X without the radio option. The supplier points to a matching notified-body number. Record the suffix, functionality, declaration revision and certificate annex. The number does not resolve whether the delivered configuration falls within the assessed scope.
Ask the manufacturer to explain the relationship between the models with controlled records and any required independent clarification. Until that relationship is justified, keep the scope question open. Do not infer that the document is fraudulent solely from a missing web result, and do not mark the item “verified CE” on the basis of the number alone.
A bounded verification report
Report separately what was authenticated, what scope was compared, which date or revision was checked and which questions remain. Retain dated enquiry results without enlarging them into a guarantee of every future shipment. A document-status answer and a technical conformity conclusion require different evidence and sometimes different responsible parties.
Kayra can assist document comparison and organise enquiries within the requested scope. It cannot change an issuer’s status or replace a competent authority’s assessment. The manufacturer and relevant body remain responsible for their records and decisions, and the current product configuration must still be supported by the appropriate evidence.

The records needed to compare CE document scope with the delivered configuration depend on the confirmed scope. Current, consistent and traceable information reduces avoidable revisions.
