Prepare an EU declaration of conformity: evidence to signature
Draft the declaration from a controlled product and evidence baseline, then verify scope and signing authority.
Collect the inputs before drafting
Obtain the legal manufacturer identity, product identifiers, applicable legislation, completed assessment evidence and any required body decision. Establish who is authorised to sign. Use the declaration requirements in the actual product law; a generic template is a starting aid, not proof that all mandatory fields or statements are suitable.
Connect each proposed model and legal reference to the technical file. Standards should reflect the evidence actually used, with correct references and justified applicability. Do not list every available standard to make the declaration appear stronger. Where the product requires a different legally prescribed declaration, resolve that document type before using a generic EU conformity form.
A hypothetical imported template
A drafter copies a declaration for model A and adds model B, while B uses a different enclosure and has no completed assessment. The form looks complete but its scope exceeds the evidence. Compare model identifiers, configuration records and report annexes, and leave B outside the proposed conformity claim until its evidence is justified.
Correct the product scope, legal references, responsible party and signing details. Record the approval of the final evidence baseline and arrange required market-language versions without changing meaning. The next action is manufacturer review and authorised signature after actual conformity is established, not circulation of an unsigned draft as a completed declaration.
Control the released declaration
Assign an issue date and revision reference and keep an accessible copy linked to the technical file. Review updates when product, legal references or relevant parties change. Establish how customers and competent authorities receive the applicable version, and prevent obsolete drafts from being attached to later shipments.
Kayra may help prepare the draft and check consistency under an agreed scope. The manufacturer or appropriately authorised party makes the legally relevant declaration; consultation cannot establish compliance where technical evidence is absent. Any required independent assessment remains a separate prerequisite rather than a service replaced by the form.
