Verify an ETA: current edition, product scope and the separate CE route check
Use official EOTA records and the issuing TAB to check an ETA’s edition and product scope. A database entry does not replace the full document, EAD citation or applicable CPR transition check.
Use the official record and the complete issued document
EOTA’s ETA database states that it contains currently valid assessments, while newly issued ETAs may not yet appear. Start with the actual reference, issuing TAB, holder and product, and obtain the complete assessment and relevant annexes. Compare intended use, variants and restrictions with the supplied configuration rather than treating a database title as full scope.
Check the official current record and, where relevant, the separate superseded-editions database. Resolve inconsistency or missing information with EOTA or the issuing TAB. Record the source and date of the answer. An absent search result alone does not prove a document is fraudulent or invalid; this page has not performed a search or confirmed any particular ETA.
The same reference can require an edition check
Conditional example: a supplier provides an older ETA PDF, while a later edition changes the permitted fixing arrangement. Compare the full edition and annexes actually issued for the product and use. The shared reference does not justify selecting the older arrangement just because it fits the proposed delivery better.
Ask the issuing TAB to clarify the applicable edition and scope. Preserve the older document as history, without altering its issue date or annexes to look current. If the proposed configuration is not confirmed in the applicable assessment, keep that gap open; a consultancy’s comparison cannot amend the ETA or supply evidence for a different fixing arrangement.
Assessment status is not the whole CE-eligibility question
Check the actual EAD reference, Official Journal citation and applicable CPR route for the product and intended use. Current Commission guidance limits the EOTA route when mandatory performance-harmonised specifications apply and excludes CE use based on non-cited EADs in the described circumstances. Do not infer indefinite CE eligibility merely because an ETA document or database record exists.
EOTA separately lists outgoing-CPR ETAs based on non-cited EADs and explains their technical-documentation status from 8 January 2026. That list is a route-status distinction, not a universal finding of fraud or useless evidence. Kayra can organise document comparison; the TAB clarifies assessment scope, and the manufacturer remains responsible for applicable declaration, conformity and CE tasks after the actual current route is established.
