ETA changes and follow-up: check the issued scope before assuming a renewal period
Track actual product, production and regulatory changes against the issued ETA and applicable system. Confirm evidence coverage with the responsible TAB; do not assume annual renewal, unlimited CE eligibility or that every change requires all tests again.
Use the actual issued conditions and current route
Read the issued ETA, annexes, assessment basis and applicable conformity-system documents. Identify actual follow-up and change conditions, the responsible parties and current EAD citation. Do not assign a universal yearly renewal cycle to every ETA or use a service contract anniversary as a legal expiry date.
Check current CPR transition and mandatory performance coverage separately from the continued technical relevance of old results. Commission guidance distinguishes new EAD/ETA periods and outgoing-route conditions; an old ETA number cannot establish indefinite CE eligibility. Confirm the route and actual issued conditions before deciding that a document needs renewal, amendment or other action.
A manufacturing move needs evidence, not a renamed old record
Conditional example: a manufacturer moves production of the same branded panel kit and outsources curing that was previously in-house. Material formulation is said to be unchanged, but the old control records describe the previous plant and process. Record the real site, process, responsibilities and resulting evidence rather than changing the address on an old inspection record.
Compare the change with the assessed product, accepted production information and applicable control duties. Ask the responsible TAB and conformity party, within their actual roles, whether the evidence remains relevant and what further action is needed. Do not assume every old performance test must be repeated, or that the unchanged trade name makes all previous coverage and controls automatically sufficient.
Close changes through the responsible parties
Keep a change register linking the issued product revision, affected characteristics, production tasks and accepted supporting records. Record the decision on coverage and any amendment or further evidence actually required. Where surveillance belongs to the applicable conformity system, retain its real outcomes separately from document preparation; a revised instruction does not demonstrate control of the new process.
Kayra can organise the comparison, gap register and agreed follow-up. The manufacturer implements controls and provides accurate changes; the TAB decides assessment coverage and ETA action, while relevant conformity bodies decide their assigned tasks. Update applicable declaration and CE records consistently with the resulting scope. No universal renewal fee, test count, fixed deadline or positive outcome is promised.
