FPC certificate checks: issuer, factory scope and current status
Check the certificate with its official issuer and compare the actual factory and product scope. NANDO lists body tasks; it is not an individual-certificate register.
Identify what the document actually certifies
Record the certificate number, issuing legal entity, holder, factory address, product or process scope, specification, version and stated conditions. Determine whether the applicable system requires an FPC certificate and what assigned task it represents. A document called a certificate is not automatically the evidence required for the supplied construction product.
Use the issuer’s official verification channel to confirm authenticity, current status and scope where available; retain the dated response and unresolved questions. Check actual notified tasks through NANDO separately. A body’s listing there does not show whether an individual certificate is valid, suspended, amended or applicable to this supply.
A group name does not extend a certificate to another factory
Conditional example: a supplier sends an FPC certificate for factory A, but the order is produced at factory B under the same commercial group. Compare the certificate’s actual sites and activities with manufacturing and delivery records. Common branding alone cannot establish coverage of B; ask the issuer about the precise scope rather than altering the address on the PDF.
Keep the scope mismatch open until supported by an official clarification or relevant current document. Do not label the certificate fake solely because a site differs, but do not accept it as proof of B’s control without support. Identify the product and factory evidence still needed for the applicable assessment and declaration.
Distinguish a valid control certificate from product evidence
A current FPC certificate does not by itself prove every declared performance value or suitability for a particular building. Compare the supplied configuration, applicable declaration and supporting evidence with the order’s requirements. Record outstanding product or project questions separately from the certificate-status check.
Kayra can organise the comparisons and questions; the official issuer confirms its document and the manufacturer remains responsible for production and declarations. This guide does not claim any named certificate has actually been verified. Keep the verification record current when holder, product, plant or status changes instead of treating a previous PDF check as permanent approval.
