Factory production control: consistent production and assessment scope

Prepare product-specific factory production control by linking materials, process checks and release decisions. Establish the applicable construction-product assessment route before requesting a certificate.

01

Control production against the applicable product specification

Factory production control (FPC) is documented, continuing internal control of factory production against the relevant technical specification. Start with the construction product, intended use, declared characteristics, factory and operations. A general quality manual or an ISO certificate does not by itself establish control of this product’s performance.

Identify the actual assessment system and legal framework for the product family. Under the CPR transition, existing and new routes coexist; a new calendar year alone does not decide the applicable route. Do not call every FPC document a mandatory third-party certificate: manufacturer controls and any external assessment tasks depend on the applicable system.

02

A changed dosage device requires an actual production decision

Conditional example: a mortar producer replaces a dosing device but retains the previous settings and release checklist. Compare the actual device, measurement checks and batch inputs with the controlled recipe and specified performance. Determine which affected production needs investigation and what evidence supports release; a signature on the old checklist does not show that the new device works correctly.

Keep the device change, checks, affected batches, test results where required and authorised disposition traceable. The responsible manufacturer must actually perform the controls and deal with nonconforming production. A preparation consultant cannot create missing historical measurements or turn an unperformed check into completed evidence.

03

Separate manufacturer control from the body’s assigned decision

Kayra can organise the product-to-control map, record review and preparation actions. The manufacturer implements the control system and remains responsible for accurate product information and the applicable declaration. The external body performs only the assessment and certification tasks assigned to it; preparation work does not confer notified-body authority.

For the applicable legacy System 2+ route, FPC certification concerns the factory control system, with initial inspection and continuing surveillance. It is not certification of every product, approval of the whole building or proof of each declared characteristic by itself. Check actual designated scope, certificate scope and product evidence separately; no individual provider or certificate is verified here.
