Search NANDO: verify a body’s law, product and task scope
Check the proposed notified body’s designation for the exact assessment task without treating NANDO as a universal certificate register.
Define the task you need to verify
Identify the applicable product legislation and the procedure requiring independent involvement before selecting a body. Use the Commission’s official notified-body information to locate the legal entity and identification number, then inspect the stated product categories and tasks. A matching company name alone is not evidence of the required designation.
Compare the procedure or module, product scope and relevant restrictions with the proposed service. Record the dated entry and any uncertainty in terminology. Distinguish notification from ordinary accreditation or a supplier’s commercial partner listing. Obtain clarification from the body where its proposed task cannot be reconciled with the official scope.
A hypothetical body listed for a different task
A body appears in NANDO for one product law, but offers a certificate for an unrelated product category. The sales proposal quotes its genuine identification number. Save the relevant scope entry and compare it with the proposed assessment. The number’s authenticity does not extend the body’s designated competence to the new product.
Ask the body to identify the exact legal basis and task for the offer. If it cannot establish the required designation, do not accept its document as the prescribed independent outcome. Select an appropriately designated body or revisit the procedure with a competent specialist, rather than use the matching number as a general approval stamp.
What the search cannot establish
NANDO does not authenticate every individual certificate or evaluate the manufacturer’s complete technical file. A scope search therefore cannot confirm every shipped product’s current conformity. For a particular document, use the issuer’s genuine contact channel and compare the certificate annexes, model identity and conditions with the evidence required by the procedure.
Kayra may assist the scope comparison and record the enquiry trail. It cannot amend a designation or make the body’s independent decision. The manufacturer must choose a body legally designated for the required work, and keep the independent assessment output distinct from an advisory search report.

The records needed to check a body’s legal designation and task scope depend on the confirmed scope. Current, consistent and traceable information reduces avoidable revisions.
