PED: Checking Declarations, Body Documents and Scope
A PED document is useful only when its identity, scope and assessment output match the equipment supplied. Verification requires more than checking that a PDF carries a CE logo.
Match the equipment and declaration
Compare the manufacturer's legal identity, product model and type or serial identification with the nameplate, drawings, instructions and declaration. Check the legislation identified and the declared configuration. The manufacturer must keep the declaration updated; an altered pressure limit or fluid can change the supporting conformity evidence.
Where body participation is required, identify the actual module and relevant body document. Verify the body's PED notification and task scope through the official route. NANDO verifies body notification; it is not a universal public register of every individual equipment certificate.
Reject a model mismatch
Hypothetically, a supplier sends a genuine body certificate for model A while the delivered vessel is model B with different allowable pressure and nozzle arrangement. Ask for the certificate's covered design/configuration and the equipment's traceable file. Refuse to treat authenticity of the PDF as proof that model B is included.
Use the issuing body's own verification channel to resolve authenticity, amendments and certificate conditions. Preserve the supplied document and the answer. If a document cannot be verified publicly, ask the issuer; the absence of a general online lookup does not by itself prove fraud or conformity.
Interpret current status by output
A type-examination certificate, quality-assurance approval and manufacturer's declaration have different scope and update conditions. Read the particular document rather than applying one universal expiry period. Equipment conformity does not establish that all operational inspection obligations have been fulfilled.
For Kayra, state whether the request is identity comparison, document verification or another activity. Its permitted role and authority must be confirmed before acceptance. This public guide does not certify authenticity, appoint an issuer or guarantee that an unverified product can be used safely.
Questions for this purpose
Is NANDO an equipment-certificate database?
It lists notified bodies and relevant notification tasks, not every individual equipment document.
Does a genuine certificate cover every model from its holder?
No. Check the exact product/configuration and document scope.
Does PED have one universal certificate expiry?
The actual procedure and document conditions must be read; the outputs are different.

PED enquiry: scope and activity
Provide the supplied document, equipment identity, nameplate limits and current configuration. Identify the issuing body and the particular uncertainty without sending only a cropped logo.
