FPC surveillance and renewal: control changes before continued supply
Use the actual assessment rules and certificate conditions to plan surveillance. A calendar reminder does not prove continuing factory control.
Start with the applicable continuing-control obligations
Identify the product specification, assessment system, certificate conditions and issuing body’s applicable procedure. Distinguish continuing surveillance, a certificate amendment and any required renewal. Do not invent a universal annual expiry or assume that a document without a printed expiry removes surveillance obligations.
Build a change record covering production sites, equipment, raw materials, processes and responsible personnel. Record what changed, which products and batches it affects and what checks support continued control. Use the relevant specification and actual body conditions to determine notification and assessment needs.
A new curing contractor changes the evidence needed
Conditional example: a precast manufacturer transfers curing to a subcontractor while keeping the existing certificate and release checklist. Compare the actual curing conditions, responsibilities, batch identity and transport stages with the controlled production scope. An unchanged product name does not demonstrate that the new arrangement preserves declared performance.
Identify required checks, usable results and unresolved changes; seek the issuing body’s scope decision where its task requires this. Do not state that the subcontractor is certified through the manufacturer merely because both signed a contract. Do not backdate a control record or treat planned checks as performed.
Keep surveillance findings and production decisions traceable
Retain actual surveillance findings, corrective actions, implementation evidence and the body’s relevant response. Track affected production separately from the administrative certificate status. A booked visit or paid invoice does not close a finding, and a new certificate PDF does not replace the manufacturer’s product evidence.
Kayra can coordinate records and submission questions. The manufacturer implements continuing production control and declarations; the assigned body makes its own surveillance or certificate decision. Agree dependencies and outputs before setting a timetable. No fixed renewal period, fee or favourable decision is promised here.
